Job Description
Ghost Transportation
Services is looking for a Fleet Dispatcher to join our team in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Dispatcher is
responsible for the day to day operations of the tractor/trailer fleet of Ghost
Transportation Services. This is a full-time permanent position working
Monday-Friday with flexible hours dependent on season. The position also
requires the individual to be on call.
Duties required
include
Coordination
of all equipment on a daily basis
Planning,
monitoring and executing dispatch of equipment and customer loads
Ensure
that on time pickup and delivery occurs while maintaining safety and regulatory
standards
Dealing with customer orders
Managing
lanes and equipment to ensure maximization of revenues and control of costs
Communicating
plans to drivers
Keeping
customer communication up to date
Using various computer
applications and databases, book transportation with drivers per clients’
instructions, ensuring all information is relayed accurately
Ensuring that TMS is
kept up to date in regards to load status, routing for trucks and driver pay
and locations of equipment
Coordination of equipment service and repairs
Organizing and managing paperwork to ensure smooth flow of invoicing
Troubleshoot issues as the arrive, or identify possible issues before they
occur
Search for freight to fill empty lanes
Rate loads for current or completed loads
Quote rates to customers for new business
Work with other departments to facilitate overreaching freight movements
Deal with after-hours issues and/or preplan in order to mitigate after hours
calls
