Practical Cargo Securement Metal Coils – Cargo Van
Transporting metal coils requires strict attention to detail, precise load placement, and specialized securement techniques due to the coils’ weight and rolling potential. The Practical Cargo Securement – Metal Coils course provides drivers with the knowledge needed to safely transport one or more coils with a combined weight of 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) or more, in accordance with North American securement regulations.
This course helps drivers understand the unique risks associated with coil transport—such as shifting, tipping, or catastrophic movement—especially when using cargo vans or enclosed equipment. By following proper securement principles, drivers can reduce hazards, maintain control, and meet compliance requirements.
