The Canadian Food and Inspection Agency (CFIA) is doing the right thing by modernizing the rules for transporting livestock, says the Canadian Trucking Alliance. However, CTA’s main concern is not the modernization of these rules but rather the exclusion of certain livestock truck transporters from key aspects of the proposed regulations.
Although the Canadian Trucking Alliance’s (CTA) request to restore federal excise tax refunds did not make the list of recommended items in that report, it was mentioned as part of the official opposition’s dissenting report to the Finance Committee.
