Statement From the Saskatchewan Trucking Association

Jun 16, 2023

The Saskatchewan Trucking Association extends its deepest condolences to all those who lost their loved ones in yesterday's tragic collision in Manitoba. We are keeping those impacted in our thoughts and are hoping for a full recovery of those in the hospital. We also send our heartfelt sympathies to the families affected and the emergency responders on the scene.

The STA and its member organizations will refrain from making comments at this time.  We firmly believe that now is not the appropriate moment for speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision near Carberry, Manitoba.

The investigators and first responders on the scene are professionals who need the support of everyone so they can do their job. As noted by the RCMP yesterday, it is important to take the time required to determine the facts.

We stand together with the affected families and the community during this difficult time and offer our support in any way possible.

Are you looking to provide your employees with new skills? Is having a safe and employee-friendly workplace part of your company culture? The Trucking Industry Certificate of Recognition (CoR) is an industry-evaluated health & safety program recognized by the WCB and Work Safe Saskatchewan.
