Testimonials
Saskatchewan Trucking Association offers first-class safety and industry training, provided by certified, experienced, and respected instructors. Here's what a few of our recent training graduates have to say.
Andrew Hiebert Certified Transportation Safety Professional
I am better equipped as a Safety Professional.
I entered in the STA’s CTSP Program to not only gain new knowledge of Health and Safety in the industry but to also strengthen my existing knowledge and skills. My hope from the start was that this program would challenge and educate me so that I can bring more to my roll with Company and the industry itself.
After completion, I know feel I am better equipped as a Safety Professional then I was before I started the program. I would strongly recommend the CTSP to anyone in the industry in a Health and Safety roll as it provides a great deal of knowledge and skill sets that you can take away and apply to the organizations you work with. The Program is also a great way of developing networking relationships with other safety professionals in the industry. Even through the restraints of the Pandemic over the last two years, Nelson and the STA dedicated the time and effort to ensure the success of the program and the success of the CTSP participants.

The CTSP program is thorough in it’s approach and gave me confidence to help develop a better safety culture at my place of work.
The CTSP initiative helps programs better understand how to investigate incidents, develop and improve upon safety culture, and ensure that the company and its employees have the best available knowledge with regards to acts and regulations which allow comprehensive compliance within the current required safety structure. This adds value to the company structure as a whole by allowing individuals access to resources and networks that increase their capability in finding the best possible solution for all involved parties in safety situations.
The CTSP program is thorough in its approach and gave me the confidence to help develop a better safety culture at my place of work. It also gave me a broad scope of tools and resources that I can utilize in my daily environment. I would recommend this program to any individual/company looking to upgrade their safety compliance on this basis alone, although there are many other attributes that the program includes.

The offering of the CTSP in Saskatchewan is invaluable for the transportation industry, I highly recommend it no matter the size of your company.
The offering of the CTSP in Saskatchewan is invaluable for the transportation industry, I highly recommend it no matter the size of your company. Over the 8 core courses and the electives you learn about an effective safety program, how to design and develop effective training and the backbone of trucking, how to administer and manage the NSC.
The STA and in particular Nelson Howe lead exceptional training and kept us engaged. The group training allowed for interactive discussions with others in the safety role of their companies. Every transportation safety coordinator should set a goal to have their professional designation.

Taking these courses and succeeding in accomplishing my goal has increased my credibility within my organization.
I started the CTSP program as a way to improve my resume. What I got out of the program was so much more.
I received confirmation that my knowledge and experience from a career in transportation was leading somewhere. I learned about areas of our industry that I had never experienced. Most importantly I built friendships and relationships with other professionals in my industry. If all I took away from the courses was the knowledge delivered by the STA instructors that would have been enough.
Taking these courses and succeeding in accomplishing my goal has increased my credibility within my organization. It has provided me with the tools needed to operate safely in the transportation industry. It has given me the resources and knowledge of where to go to find answers, how to interpret legislation, how to create and present a vision of safety to our team and how to get our team to buy in to the culture of safety that we are trying to develop and grow.
In a challenging time where traditional in person classes were not an option the instructor at the STA was able to use technology to bring together a group of professionals that might not normally be in classes together. The way the courses were taught enabled me and my classmates to form a bond that I hope will remain throughout the rest of my career. Each of us, over the course of the last year, has talked to each other out side of class, relying on our collective knowledge to improve safety at our respective companies because of our shared experience through the CTSP course.
Our instructor (Nelson Howe) made sure that the classes were challenging and enjoyable. He also invested his time and energy to make sure that all of us understood the material and that we each took what we needed out of each course.
This is supposed to be a short testimonial on my experience with the Sask. Trucking Association and the CTSP course. I don’t know that I could truly do it justice or help people understand how much I really got out of this course. Education. Mentorship. Networking and connections. Resources and knowledge. Mutual respect and friendships that will last a lifetime. Hands down, one of the best experiences I have persevered through. I am thankful that I was up to the challenge of successfully completing this course!!!
