TRUCKING HR CANADA HONOURS TOP FLEET EMPLOYERS AT 10th ANNUAL AWARDS GALA

OTTAWA, ON (October 12, 2023) – Trucking HR Canada brought just over 400 national industry leaders representing 93 best fleets in the industry together for a night of celebration at the 10th annual awards gala.

Held at Toronto’s iconic Fairmont Royal York Hotel, four Top Fleet awards and eight Achievements of Excellence were presented to leading employers at the 2023 Top Fleet Employers Awards event.

This is the 10th year for the program honouring Top Fleet Employers as the best places to work and recognizing outstanding excellence in Human Resources in the trucking and logistics sector.

There are eight Achievement of Excellence Awards highlighting leaders in specific HR areas: 

  • HR Innovator - ONE for Freight
  • Workplace Wellness and Mental Health - Whitecourt Transport Inc.
  • Employee Engagement - Polaris Transportation Group
  • Workplace Diversity and Inclusion - Midland Transport Ltd.
  • Training and Skills Development – Trimac Transportation 
  • Workplace Culture - Steve’s Livestock Transport
  • Women in the Workplace - Bison Transport
  • HR Leadership - Caron Transportation Systems

Another highlight of the night was the presentation of the HR Leader of the Year Award to Dave Dietrich, The Erb Group of Companies.  Dave Dietrich was nominated by his peers and recognized for his exceptional impact on his team and the sector through his commitment to HR excellence. 

Also given special recognition this year were the Top Fleet Employers of Distinction 10+ Years who have been with the program since its inception:  Bison Transport, C.A.T. Inc., Home Hardware Stores Limited, Kindersley Transport Ltd., Kriska Holdings Ltd., Logikor, The Erb Group of Companies, and Transpro Freight Systems Ltd.

The Top Fleet Employers program is a national initiative that recognizes the significance of sound HR policies and practices within the trucking and logistics industry. Applicants are evaluated based on multiple criteria, including recruitment and retention practices, workplace culture, compensation, training and skills development, and innovative HR policies.
