U.S. CDC Publishes Changes to Dog Entry Requirements at the Border

In advance of new dog entry requirements coming into effect on August 1st, the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published updated rules on their website, which simplifies the process for travellers from low-risk/rabies-free countries, based on the feedback received from the public and various industry stakeholders over the last several weeks.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) continues to work with Government of Canada officials, including the Canadian Embassy and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to verify the impacts of these changes and to help ensure that travellers and truck drivers impacted by this policy will be compliant once the policy comes into effect.

CTA will publish additional information and communications from the Government of Canada on this topic as it becomes available.
